Pre-Sales Architect

Rave is searching for a Pre-Sales Architect to work closely with the Sales team to drive customer acquisition and deal closure by serving as the front-line authority on Rave technology and functionality for sales prospects. This position will be based in Framingham, MA.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and maintain technical sales relationships with prospects and clients throughout the sales cycle
  • Meet with prospects and clients to understand their current technical environment, key business issues/drivers, and future technology requirements
  • Provide interactive demonstrations to communicate product solutions, with the ability to explain how the products' technical architecture interoperates with prospect's IT infrastructures
  • Act as the technical resource on Sales calls for issues involving product specifications, features, functionality, and integration
  • Brainstorm and interface with Product and Engineering teams to design customer solutions for product offerings and implementations
  • Serve as the point person in organizing RFP responses and manage the RFP process to completion through successful acceptance by prospects
  • Assist in the development of sales policies, practices, and support tools, including standardized solution presentations, competitive analysis, and pricing models
  • Assist in post-sales transition from Sales team to Account Managers
  • 10-20% travel required

Skills and experience required:

  • B.A. degree, preferably in business or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Sales Engineering or direct selling
  • Proven track record of developing and managing technical relationships with prospects and clients throughout the sales cycle
  • Demonstrated success of assisting Sales meet or exceed quotas
  • Experience with RFP/RFI process, negotiation process, and non-disclosure agreements
  • Familiarity with database management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrated history of providing excellent account management to existing clients
  • “Hands-on” technical experience preferred, particularly in performing integration work between multiple systems
  • Writing sample required

Familiarity with the following areas desired:

  • Wireless messaging – SMS/MMS
  • Wireless data – cellular data, WiFi, WiMax
  • Mobile application environments – WAP, Java, BREW, Symbian, MS, iPhone, RIM
  • Back-office systems – ERP & LMS, LDAP/Authentication, Security, etc.
