Rave Mobile Safety's software keeps millions of individuals safe at hundreds of organizations nationwide. Rave is headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts; Investors include Bain Capital Ventures, Sigma Partners, and RRE Ventures.
Rave Mobile Safety was founded in 2004 by a visionary team of entrepreneurs and investors who believed the powerful capabilities and near-ubiquitous ownership of mobile phones could transform the way we communicate. Since then, the company has grown to meet the increasing demand from institutional clients across a variety of market segments, all bound by a common goal: to protect the lives and promote the well-being of their on-the-go constituents.
- 2005 - Rave's solutions profiled nationally in USA Today
- 2006 - Rave's client Montclair State University (NJ) wins the coveted Jeanne Clery Award for Campus Safety for its pioneering use of Rave Guardian
- 2007 - Colleges and universities nationwide implement Rave Alert to improve their emergency notification preparedness in the wake of tragedies at Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois University
- 2008 - Rave Guardian upgraded to work on any cell phone and any network in the U.S.; Rave adds new data centers, infrastructure and capacity to serve growing client base
- 2009 - Rave Guardian wins the CTIA Emerging Technology Award for Public Safety; Rave releases its new crime-tip application: EyeWitness
- 2010 - Rave releases Smart911; the company wins Computerworld's prestegious 21st Century Achievement Award (pictured below)
